Whiteclaw's Fate

This one was pretty tough. I tried some new stuff on this one (water UGHHH), and hopefully it has the mood I'm trying to convey.

Okay, so I've finished Fire and Ice yesterday and I decided to pick Whiteclaw's death scene. It's a really critical scene that kicks off a lot of character development in both Graystripe and Sandpaw, yet I don't see any drawings of it.

“I tried to grab him...he just lost his footing...I didn’t mean to...” The words tumbled out breathlessly. Fireheart bounded across to his friend and pressed his nose into his flank for comfort, but Graystripe backed blindly away.

Fireheart noticed that Sandpaw was standing at the edge of the gorge, staring down at the torrent below. Her paws seemed frozen to the ground, and her eyes remained fixed on the steep drop. Fireheart guessed she had realized how close she had come to sharing Whiteclaw’s fate.

I was really close to picking this one scene with Cinderpaw and Yellowfang because their relationship is one of my favorites in the whole series, but my love for Sandpaw and the psychological effect this event had on Graystripe kind of sealed the deal for me. Plus I thought you guys would get bored if every one of my drawing had Yellowfang. My obvious favorite is obvious. BUT HEY maybe if I have time I'll draw the scene I had in mind, because it was really precious.
